Program Progression

During your time at MTI, should you have any questions regarding either your progress in the MTI Way International or what you can expect once completing the MTI Way International, please visit our front office and we can arrange a meeting with any of our instructors, our president, or our administrative staff to discuss any of the following:

  • Career opportunities post-graduation,

  • Alumni experiences and contacts,

  • Information regarding school policies and program progression,

  • Your individual progress within the program,

  • Or anything else that you have questions about.

Your success in our program and your career means we’ve succeeded as a premiere driver training school in Canada.

If there is anything you are struggling with during your time here, you can always visit or contact our office and we’ll do everything we can to help you succeed.

Education Assistance

If you need help with anything that’s been taught in a lesson, you’re welcome to ask either your instructor or our front office to schedule some additional training time. This additional training or practice time may be conducted outside of regular business hours (8:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday - Friday) and may be mentored per a students request.

At MTI, 1-on-1 time with instructors and staff is NOT a luxury, it's a STANDARD.

Over half of the hours spent in the MTI Way International will be delivered to you in a 1-on-1 training environment.

As a result of the intimate nature of the program, MTI does not offer traditional “office hours”, rather, you are encouraged to use your spare time between lessons to practice your yard skills during regular business hours with the trucks and tools we have on school premises or chat with instructors before or after any lesson should you have any questions.

Student Records

As a driving school licensed by the Motor Vehicle Act, we always adhere to the Code of Conduct for Driver Training Licensees administered by ICBC. We also adhere to ICBC’s Class 1 Melt Course Standards and Curriculum Framework.

This framework requires us to maintain detailed student records for anyone who enrolls in The MTI Way International. These student records help us keep track of:

  • Each lesson you've been taught,

  • What was taught to you,

  • How long the lesson was,

  • How well you received the lesson,

  • Any feedback that was given to you by your instructor, and

  • Any additional notes the instructor may have.

Thanks to these student records, our instructors are able to provide specialized feedback for each student and recommend additional practice in areas our instructors feel the student can improve in during their time in The MTI Way International.

Class Size

The MTI Way International currently operates with a class size of 4 students. This smaller class size allows for:

  • All in-vehicle training to be done 1 on 1 with instructors,

  • All yard lessons to be done as a group of 4 students, with each student being asked to demonstrate skills the instructor has taught while the other 3 students observe,

  • Classroom lessons to be done as a group of 4 and structured to allow for plenty of discussion between the instructor and students.

While our class size may change in the future, ICBC's Class 1 MELT Course Standards and Curriculum Framework mandates a maximum class size of 15 students when delivering Class 1 MELT Training.
