Certified Air Brake Course

Certified Air Brake Course

During the 7.5 hour classroom portion of our certified Air Brake course we will build a working air brake system from the ground up. The 4-hour pre-trip portion provides hands-on instruction in Air Brake pre-trip techniques, as well as brake adjustment procedures – preparing you to obtain your Air Brake Endorsement from ICBC.

Students attending this course will become familiar with the advantages and safety measures that an air brake system offers for heavy vehicles, and how they function. Our classroom features a functional air brake board that enables students to have a hands-on experience before entering the yard, thoroughly demonstrating how each component functions. This interactive classroom portion provides students with the information they need to successfully prepare for ICBC’s Air Brake knowledge test. After completion of our classroom theory course and the practical portion, you can head to ICBC’s Driver Licensing Office to have the Air Brake endorsement (15) added to your licence.

Our Air Brake courses are generally scheduled monthly with the theory/classroom instruction taking place on a Saturday, and the practical training scheduled on the Sunday or over the following week – based on the availability of the student, an instructor and a vehicle (truck or bus).
